Why Self-Care Isn’t Selfish With Dr. Zoe Shaw – 003

What IS Self-Care?

Have you heard the buzzword “self-care” and wondered what it means? Curious if you should or shouldn’t be practicing it? And if yes, how? If you’re a Christian, maybe you doubt self-care is even biblical. If you’ve had any of these thoughts, you’ll learn so much from my guest, Dr. Zoe Shaw. She’s recently written a book A Year of Self-Care: Daily Practices and Inspiration for Caring for Yourself which will answer these questions and so much more. In this episode, we discuss why women have been culturized to overlook this real need (you’ve never shamed your man for taking time to rest + recharge, have you?) and more importantly, how implementing this habit will benefit all of your relationships. This includes your relationship with God, yourself, and others.

My favorite part is when Dr. Zoe and I talk about how she went through a long, hard season of marriage because she was neglecting herself and how adopting these methods ultimately saved her marriage.
You’ll be so glad you tuned in and shared this one with a friend!
